MODIFIED PLAYER PLACEMENT
The modified player placement rule was originally instituted in the NECSL to allow clubs to place players in the appropriate age group based on that player's development (late developers). The NECSL understands the importance of growth, development, and playing within an appropriate level of competition, which will ultimately help them reach their full potential. This is not to help a team win games or for clubs to fill out team rosters due to low numbers, but instead is based on assisting individual players in difficult circumstances. For Spring 2026, there have been significant changes to the requirements for a modified player. Please review all guidelines before completing this form:

- November 11, 2025: U8-U14 Fall Team Registrations transferred to Spring 2026 NECSL Registration Event
- November 11, 2025: Spring 2026 Team Registration open for all U15-U19 and new U8-U14 teams (those that did not participate in Fall 2025 League) | All registrations must be completed by Friday, January 9, 2026
- November 20, 2025: U8-U14 Initial Spring Brackets shared
- Boys Brackets | All edits must be completed by Monday, December 8, 2025
- Girls Brackets | All edits must be completed by Monday, December 8, 2025
- December 1, 2025: 11:00 AM Zoom Meeting with Club Directors
- December 8, 2025: Final Day to make edits to U8-U14 Spring Brackets
- December 15, 2025: Updated U8-U14 Spring Brackets shared with teams. Brackets now locked, only changes can be made via Bracket Change Form.
- Updated U8-U14 Brackets: Girls | Boys
- January 9, 2026: Final Day to register U15-U19 teams in Gotsport for Spring 2026 Season
- January 9, 2026: Last Day to Complete Bracket Change Form for U8-U14 Teams
- January 13, 2026: U15-U19 Initial Spring Placements shared | All edits must be completed by Friday, January 24, 2024
- January 27, 2026: Final day to make edits to U15-U19 Spring Placements
- January 30, 2026: Updated U15-U19 Spring Brackets shared with teams. Brackets now locked, only changes can be made via Bracket Change Form.
- Updated U15-U19 Brackets
- February 4, 2026: Modified Player Placement Form shared with clubs
- February 6, 2026: Final day to add teams or make bracket changes for U8-U19 teams.
- February 19, 2026: Team Fees will be shared with all clubs and due by March 27, 2026.
- February 19, 2026: Schedules Released | Home teams start inputting time/venue into Gotsport
- March 6, 2026: Referee Fees shared with all clubs | Payment #1 Due March 20, 2026 | Payment #2 Due May 1, 2026.
- March 13, 2026: Final day (12:00 PM) to enter players into Modified Player Placement Request Form
- March 13, 2026: Schedules Locked in Gotsport
- March 23, 2026: 11:00 AM Zoom Meeting with Club Directors to review Match Day Requirements
- March 27, 2026: Team Fees Due
- March 28-29, 2026: Opening Weekend
- June 6-7, 2026: Championship Weekend
GOTSPORT SPRING REGISTRATION DETAILS

- Do not register U8-U14 teams that played in the NECSL Fall 2025 Season | Those registrations have been transferred over internally.
- Only register U15-U19 teams, or new U8-U14 teams.

- When registering new teams, don't fuss about preferred Divisions as we will use the Bracket Placement Google Sheets process (similar to previous years) to place all teams correctly.

- At the U8-U10 age groups (7v7); only one modified player permitted per team
- At the U11-U12 age groups (9v9); only two modified players permitted per team
- At the U13-U15 age groups (11v11); only three modified players permitted per team
- No modified players allowed in the U16-U19 age groups.
- No exceptions
Criteria
A player is eligible to be on the modified player list based on the following factors:
- Physical - physically small and/or developmentally behind same aged peers
- Technical - technically behind compared to same aged players
- Experience - new to playing soccer relative to same aged players

- Club Size (1-150 teams) = $325 per team (per season)
- Club Size (151+ teams) = $305 per team (per season)
- Additional Fee for U8-U10 Jamboree/Festival teams = $125 per team (per season)
REFEREE & ASSIGNING FEES (Fall 2025 & Spring 2026)
- The below breakdown is based on a 7-game schedule
- If games are not covered by referees, clubs will receive credit/refund starting in Fall 2025.
- No referees at U8 Jamborees
